Video Submission Programs Compared

April 7, 2008 by Bruce Walls

UVP-picIf you understand how valuable online videos are and produce and publish more than a handful of videos each month then you know how time consuming it can be to upload each video to the video sharing sites of your choice. This problem has been recognised for some time now and a few programs have been developed to make posting videos a lot easier and considerably quicker.

I have looked at five such programs to see exactly what is on offer and what bang you get for your buck with each program. Call it video submission software, video distribution software or video uploading software, what ever term you use the end result is the same. The object is to submit your videos to the main free video sharing sites and have them viewed by as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. There are now hundreds of free video sharing sites out there but to be honest no more than the top 50 are worth considering and probably a less.

Not only do these programs submit your videos but they tweak the submissions to help your videos gain as much exposure as possible and be listed in the search engines more quickly.

Of the five sites that we have looked at Traffic Geyser submits your videos to 35 video sharing sites and 12 social bookmarking communities plus blog and podcast directories. Video Post Robot posts to 29 and 14 respectively, Video Upload Pro posts to 18 sites, Upload Video Pro posts to 21 and Tubemogul posts to 13 sites and an unstated amount of social book marking sites.

With headlines such as ‘Our Users Are Getting FRONT PAGE Google Listings…in Just a Few Hours’ and ‘With The Simple Click Of Your Mouse, Magically Activate A ‘Raging River’ of Video Traffic’ the developers are claiming a lot for their programs. But which one will be right for you and which one will suit your pocket. Top of the range is Traffic Geyser which is more than video submission, it is a video creation program as well, and will even create and upload an audio recording that you make over the telephone, where ever you are.

At over $1000/year ($697 for a one of payment) it is not cheap but stands head and shoulders above the other. But if you do not want all the functions that Traffic Geyser offers then you should find another program from our list that suits your needs and is perfectly reliable for what it does.

At the other end of the spectrum is Tubemogul who will submit your videos to 13 sites all for free. Having said that, one site is Sclipo which only accepts training/teaching videos and StupidVideos which might not be the right site for your content. However Tubemogul does offer analysis and charting tools and is worth considering especially if you are just starting out.
