Creating Videos That Sell

The Internet has become so over saturated with “amateur” and “homemade” videos (up to 100,000 new videos are added to YouTube every day), consumers have become “quick to pull the trigger” on videos that don’t immediately grab and hold their attention.

The most recent statistics from the Online Publishers Association and Adweek show that consumers stop watching the majority of online videos after just the first 20 seconds, or to put it another way, the novelty of online video has worn off.

However with marketing orientated videos promoting products or services over 65% of online viewers will view videos to their end. Half of the viewers will take some sort of action including 12% who will actually buy the product. Compare this to the .5% to 2% of viewers to a text only site will end up making a purchase.

I could give you yet more figures but the bottom line is that if you are not using video to promote your services, products or website then you are doing yourself a disservice. Not just video but short quality videos that will grab your viewers attention. But quality videos come at a price, starting at $300 for
a 60 second video.

Now there is a way that you can learn to make your own videos by joining the  Web Video University. You will receive a four week online training course set in a ‘virtual classroom’ environment. The course is in video format and available on demand but to make sure that you spend enough time on each section, each week is released weekly so that you cannot access week two in your first week.

Week 1 covers the nuts and bolts of web video including camcorders, audio, lightning, backgrounds and even how to make your own teleprompter.

Week 2 starts you off scripting your videos, reviewing software, in this case Sony Vegas Pro, and then on to creating videos using the software. By the time you get to video 23 of week 2 you certainly have learnt a lot.

Now I have only recently subscribed to this course and am still waiting to move on to week 3 so at the mont I can only comment on weeks 1 and 2 which have been excellent.

Additional to the cost of the course is the software. Dave the instructor uses Sony Vegas Pro which costs almost $550 to buy. However you can have a 30 trial to make up your mind or use the more basic version, Vegas Movie Studio starting at $75. After this you can spend additional money on sound and video files, it’s up to you.

Another great feature of the course is the resources section each week which lists lots of great websites to obtain additional items that are mentiuoned in the weekly videos.

So far I am really pleased with the course and am already starting making new videos. You will find this course worthwhile if you want to make videos for your own website or want to become a producer making videos for clients. There is no risk to you as the course comes with an unconditional guarantee.

Here are a view testimonials for the Web Video University.

I must say that I’ve been extremely pleased with the Web Video University Course. As a college professor I tend to be very critical of the quality of educational material. Your course was worth every penny and I’d gladly do it again. Kathy E. Moffatt

It takes a lot to impress me these days, having spent a small fortune on Internet marketing courses over the years, none of which really panned out. But your course has blown me away…absolutely brilliant! Neil Watkins

Taking your course on how to create web marketing videos has opened a brand new world of opportunity for me. The material was well presented, very thorough and extremely useful. It is definitely helping my Internet marketing efforts. Coach Ken
