Video Or Pictures?: No Contest!

October 10, 2007 by Bruce Walls

collage_picIf you were a realtor, or a real estate agent depending on where you live, and were promoting a property to potential buyers on your mailing list then what would impress and influence your potential customers more. A few pictures of the property or a short online video.

I don’t think that there is any doubt that the [tag-tec]online video[/tag-tec] would be the winner. In the case of the following video it is the same set of pictures that have just been taken of the property but presented as a video with captions and sound track rather than the pictures themselves.

The pictures were made into a video using Photo Story 3 from Microsoft, which is a free program, and took twenty minutes to put together. With a little more work one or more of the pictures could be ‘zoomed in’ showing details such as the equipment in the kitchen or the features in the bathrooms for instance.

Once produced the video can be embedded in a page on your website and can be uploaded to countless free video sharing sites on the internet such as Google Video, for greater exposure and to drive traffic to your website. It is easy enough to add a link to the video when mailing your potential clients.

But you might not be a realtor, you might be a yacht broker or a car dealer. Exactly the same principle is involved, take digital photographs of the subject, save them to your hard drive and produce a video with background music or a commentary which can be promoted as mentioned above. What could be simpler!. Producing internet video is so easy.
