YouTube Analytics Extended

Google, the owners YouTube, said yesterday it has added visitor demographic information to its analytics tool for advertisers on the popular video site.
Attempting to make YouTube Insight more useful and YouTube profitable, Google added a demographics tab that displays statistics on the combined total views of all the videos uploaded by a person or organization. The feature breaks down viewers by age group, gender, or a combination of the two. The information is based on what users provide Google when they set up a YouTube account. Read more

Want to become a Playboy Playmate and you have what it takes, including looks, smile, body and not shy then it is now easier than before to be ‘discovered.’
Upload a video of yourself, looking and acting like a Playmate, to video sharing site YouTube and wait to be discovered by a Playboy scout who will be scouring the YouTube clips.
Just post a short video on YouTube that highlights your best assets, your figure, your face, your sense of humor, and especially your personality.

Those traffic analysts over at Hitwise have just released new numbers indicating that while online video sites as a category have seen a 7% drop in traffic year over year since March 2007, YouTube has seen a remarkable 32% growth in visits during that period. YouTube’s market share in the video sector is now at 73.18%, according to Hitwise.

According to data at Alexa.com which ranks websites according to their visitor traffic, Web 2.0 video sharing site Youtube.com has now overtaken Google.com as the world’s second most visited website. Is this proof that video search marketing has come of age and is becoming a threat to traditional online search?
