Creating Videos That Sell
The Internet has become so over saturated with “amateur” and “homemade” videos (up to 100,000 new videos are added to YouTube every day), consumers have become “quick to pull the trigger” on videos that don’t immediately grab and hold their attention.
The most recent statistics from the Online Publishers Association and Adweek show that consumers stop watching the majority of online videos after just the first 20 seconds, or to put it another way, the novelty of online video has worn off.
However with marketing orientated videos promoting products or services over 65% of online viewers will view videos to their end. Half of the viewers will take some sort of action including 12% who will actually buy the product. Compare this to the .5% to 2% of viewers to a text only site will end up making a purchase.
