SheZoom: Video Site For Women

SheZoom which is an online video site focusing on content for women has just raised $2 million of funding from private investors. The company is based in New York and was founded in 2007 by CES Stacy Artandi who has a history in online and digital business.

The site launched at the end of March and is divided into channels for relationships, food, tech, money, mind and body, as well as beauty, fashion and entertainment. “These channels will make sharing videos more palatable then a site that offers an uncategorized free-for-all”, said Artandi.

SheZoom will spend the money on several “experts” in those areas to produce video commentaries. The rest of the money will go towards building out the sales and marketing team. “We plan to sell our own inventory, so we have some key hires in that area, as well as on the editorial side. Also we will be developing the site’s technology” stated Artandi. “More short-term, we’re looking for deals to syndicate other sites’ content into SheZoom, as well as looking for distribution of our videos out to third parties.”
