Camcorder Zoom

In an earlier post I wrote that when choosing a camcorder to make videos for your site and to submitting to video sharing sites one feature that a camcorder should have is at least a 10x optical zoom.

I haven’t really used the zoom feature on my Canon camcorder too much but today I spotted a ’skink’ in the garden and quickly grabbed the camcorder and tripod and made a short video clip showing how effective the zoom can be.

In the case of my Canon MVX350i it has a 20x optical zoom and it is quite amazing how powerful the zoom feature is. In the following video you cannot even see what I am zooming in on at the start but it takes up most the screen in the end.
