Video Marketing
February 21, 2008 by Bruce Walls
Many knowledgeable internet marketers agree that video in 2008 is going to be like the article marketing boom of 2004-2005. Only much, much bigger.
Video can be intimidating to many people, it’s not quite like sitting down at your computer and writing a 600 word article in a text editor. You actually have to get involved with technology that you might find difficult to learn and you have actually got to make some physical effort to make your videos.
This is exactly why you should become a video producer as the majority of people are just too lazy or too intimidated to get started. This will give you a great head start over the majority of internet marketers and website owners who are reluctant to use video on their websites.
Having said that you can visit YouTube and think that every man and his dog are making and submitting videos to them. While this might seem true, the majority of videos are not submitted for marketing reasons, but by people uploading nonsense and non how to videos, and it still leaves you at an advantage when producing and submitting your videos.
Of course YouTube is not the only site to upload and share your videos. There are hundreds of such sites and the list grows daily. Video sites are appearing in speciic niches in response to people not being able to find what they want easily or at all on the big sites like Google and YouTube. For a list of the 50 top rated video sharing sites look at my earlier post.
In the not too distant future there will be as many video directories as there
are article directories at the moment. Google and other video sharing sites are working on technology to decipher the “words†in video so that the videos can be ranked just like written text articles without surrounding text.
This just shows how important video is becoming and to this end many new products will be developed to exploit video, especially for internet marketers. Every week I find emails in my mail box promoting new products. Some are good and some offer no real benefits but the fact is that more and more peoiple are recognising how important and useful video is becoming on the internet.
Want to create a video straight away and you haven’t got any equipment or technical know how! No problem, just read this article about Animoto and all you need is a few photos about yourself or your product or service.
Another great resource to get you started making videos just with a few photos from your hard drive is Photo Story 3. So there is no real reason now NOT to get started promoting your goods and services and staying ahead of most of the competition.
