Turn Your Blog Or Website Into A Widget

Away from the video theme, did you know it is possible to turn your blog into a widget so that it can be displayed on other blogs and websites, either your own or those belonging to other people. This is a great way to link your website and blog to others or to advertise your products and services on other sites. The widget, in this case called a blidget, that you create displays your most recent posts as headlines which people can click on to go straight to your blog.

Create Your Own Bidget.

1. To get started visit WidgetBox
2. Register and create a free account
3. Click on ‘Make a Blidget’ in left sidebar
4. Enter site or blog URL and click ‘Continue’
5. Choose Layout, Theme and Display
6. Choose Header Style, Title and Image from your site
7. Select Gallery Listing and Description
8. Click on ‘Publish Blidget’
9. Preview Blidget then click on ‘Get Widget’
10. Now you have a choice depending on where Widget/Blidget will be displayed
11. In this case select ‘Get Widget Code’
12. Select and copy Javascript Code
13. Paste code into your sidebar widget, blog post or web page.

That’s it and the result is below but it looks great in your sidebar.
