Paid Web Video Service

September 19, 2007 by Bruce Walls

What can you expect from using a paid web video service provider. There are several, and growing, [tag-tec]web video service providers[/tag-tec] who will host your videos and provide you with a variety of services for a fee. These services could include a customizable video player and viewing figures. The fee will vary depending on the provider, player features, bandwidth allowance etc.

The main advantage of such a service is that you have the ability to quickly add customizable, high quality video presentations on your web site which will complement the quality of your site and content of the videos and give a more professional and classy image.

So how would your videos be different in appearance than the free video site videos such as those from YouTube.
You can customize the appearance and color of the player to match the color scheme of your site.
Add text such as ‘Click To Play’ beside the play button as a call to action for your visitors.
An active Branding Text Link incorporated in the player frame to redirect visitors to a sales page or similar.
‘Add To Site’ and ‘Share’ buttons to encourage visitors to spread the word.
A clickable exit image after the video has played to redirect visitors to a sales page or similar.
No uncontrollable link on the video to take visitors to YouTube or other free video sharing site.

One of the main reasons to have videos on site is to get viewers to take a call to action such as subscribe, buy or click. Whether the videos are educating, entertaining or motivating they are a tool in ultimately obtaining a sale. Now the free video sharing sites are only interested in increasing their advertising revenue by by aquiring and offering as much free content as possible.

Free video sharing sites or video syndication sites have their uses and can help you get free traffic if the videos that you submit are viewed many times. That in itself is not as easy as it once was with so many videos added daily. The videos can be used in your posts and pages to add content where there is no call to action to subscribe or purchase.
